War and Peace
War and Peace
The fragile moment in which conflict overtakes harmony. A hawk descends upon a dove mid-flight, its talons just beginning to pierce, marking the instant where peace is disrupted but not yet extinguished. Suspended in the air, the dove’s body turns downward while its wings remain open- both resistance and inevitable surrender.

Reflecting the tension between opposing forces that cannot coexist. When one rises, the other is diminished. Speaking to the broader human condition, where desired peace is often interrupted by forces of conflict, both external and internal.
Symbolism broken down:

The dove - peace in its most vulnerable state, a presence that is easily disrupted yet deeply desired.

The hawk - the force of conflict, decisive and unavoidable, interrupting moments of calm with sudden intensity.

The interaction - the instant where opposing forces collide, emphasizing the impossibility of coexistence between war and peace.

The background - the color of destruction, recalling smoke and rubble from the aftermath of conflict.
