Self Defense
When survival calls for protection, creativity becomes a weapon of its own.
An unlikely guardian, secured in place with something as tender as a band-aid. At first glance, it feels contradictory, even fragile. But that tension is the point.
Symbolism broken down:
The snail – to be mistakenly perceived as slow, soft, and defenseless - misjudged simply because it does not move with urgency. It represents those who are underestimated, overlooked, or perceived as easy targets.
The knife – not just a weapon, but a symbol of ingenuity. The instinct to adapt, to defend oneself in unconventional ways when facing forces that are stronger, louder, or more dominant.
The band-aid – to signify that self care is needed. Protection and healing coexist. Strength does not eliminate vulnerability -it acknowledges it.
