Balanced Diet
Balanced Diet

Tension between intention and behavior through a quietly humorous lens. A penguin moves forward with a hamburger, donut, and soda carefully stacked atop its head—an arrangement that is both controlled and on the verge of collapse. Drawing on the familiar phrase and reframing it from a measure of health into an act of physical balance. What appears stable is, in reality, precarious.

A visual contradiction, reflecting on the choices that shape daily life. Balance is presented not as an ideal state of perfection, but as an ongoing negotiation - one that often includes compromise, indulgence, and contradiction. What we carry, and how we carry it, defines our version of balance.

Symbolism broken down:

The penguin - the individual navigating everyday life with careful movement. Reflecting the effort required to maintain control amid competing impulses and responsibilities.

The fast food - the personal choice, particularly those driven by convenience, habit, or desire. The decisions that accumulate and require management, rather than judgment.

The act of balancing - the instability inherent in maintaining equilibrium. Balance is not a fixed condition, but a continuous act of adjustment, where even excess can be momentarily held in place.
