Until We Meet Again
2024
acrylic on canvas
40 x 20 in
NFS
This was inspired by my mom who was having trouble with the thought of me moving to another country. She feared that she would never see me again. So, I started to create this painting to explain to her that even if I'm not right beside her in person that I will always be by her side in spirit. Loving her the whole time we are apart. Originally, the elephant was to represent my mom, I was represented as the phantom elephant, and the clock was to symbolize our time apart and how that time can seem heavy. Sadly, before I could finish this painting for my mom, she became very ill and now has brain damage. She barely knows who I am and now we have since changed places in this painting. For I am now the elephant pulling the clock longing for my mom.

*update - My mom passed away two months after I finished this piece.
