365 Days, The Story of Two Kennels
We recognize individuality by saying you look like me but are not me.
Because animals do not look like us it is often harder for people to recognize the animals individuality.
For 365 days I went to the same local animal shelter following one cat kennel and one dog kennel.
Seeing the animals going through that space made it very easy for me to discover their uniqueness.
These are the portraits of those animals. Some were there for a very short time while others stayed longer.
The size of the original paintings reflect the amount of time the animal stayed in the shelter.
The bigger the painted the longer the stay.
Starting from 5"x 5" all the way up to 27"x 27".
All of them were individuals, unique unto themselves.
